BIM – technology that will take your projects to the next level

What is BIM?

BIM is a technology for creating and collecting information that uses intelligent 3D models at its base. It facilitates the generation of data that can be used by specialists at various stages of the building’s life cycle: design, construction, and later also maintenance.

Thanks to access to valuable data, teams from various industries can work on a project at the same time, seeing changes on an ongoing basis. This allows you to make the right decisions, avoid errors and optimize costs.

BIM will help you reduce many of the typical business challenges of construction projects: it will allow you to collaborate efficiently and give you better insight into the project early in the process.

BIM is a source of competitive advantage for your company, and we will help you achieve it. We are one of the first BIM Managers in Poland, and we have completed many large projects in Poland and abroad. See what long-term benefits you will achieve by using our support!

BIM as a process

BIM is not a type of software, and the change from CAD to BIM is not simply an update to the application. The transition to BIM is a complex process that requires deep business and industry changes. Discover with us the benefits of using this technology.

PLAN

Be confident: Assess your existing environment based on data and communicate the potential impact of your building on your environment.

BUILD

Prevent Loss: identify costly projects and schedule contradictions before construction begins.

DESIGN

Work efficiently: Document with smart model solutions and streamline time-consuming design tasks.

MANAGE

Deliver quality: Use intelligent industry models and manage infrastructure information to meet quality standards and make decisions easier in the future.

How does BIM work?

BIM uses 3D models for data processing.

Before the BIM technology was used, the different stages of the project were not linked. First of all, the architectural design was created, and only after it was created, the industrial designers start to work.

With BIM technology, professionals from different industries can work together on the project in its early stages. The architect models the 3D object and passes it to the constructor and installer. This exchange takes place before the facades are projected.

As any changes occur early in the work, they can be taken into account in future design and reduced costs.

The 3D model, which is developed at the design stage, is then used by construction contractors. When the construction is complete, the contractor shall supplement it with implementing data. Only then is the model saturated with sufficient information to enable the end customer to effectively use it for object management.

Accelerate your project with cloud sharing

Using CAD software allows architects to work on the same project at the same time. The team then sets up a central file with the 3D model of the building, and individual designers publish the elements they create in the building, seeing the modifications made by their colleagues. This work eliminates the problem of collisions.
But what happens when a project needs to be passed on to professionals from other industries: Installers, electricians, or building engineers? The BIM is the ideal solution for these situations. In a design process that uses this technology, all interested parties have access to information from the moment the first architectural element appears in a central file located on the common server. Later, they see the changes they make.

This work technique will help you improve your project. Experts from your team will be able to see the collisions of existing components already in the design phase. In the file area, they will quickly communicate them to other professionals. By working together in the cloud, you can get your project done faster, coordinate your work more easily, and optimize your costs.

BIM technology – pays off!

See how your business can benefit by implementing BIM:

  • Fewer errors and omissions in documentation;
  • fewer project fixes;
  • lower construction costs;
  • shorter lead times;
  • less risk of claims and process on the part of the outsourcer.

Why is the transition to BIM cost-effective?

By using BIM technology, you will reduce costs of i. a.:

  • Pre-measurement and costing;
  •  Building development and life process;
  •  Architectural design;
  •  Building completion;
  •  Building use;
  • and industrial design.

What do you need to get started with BIM?

Development Software

To use BIM technology, you need the right software. Depending on the stage of the investment, these will be different tools. One of the most common solutions is Autodesk Revit. In one package, you will find the tools you need for building design, installation and construction:

  • Revit Architecture;
  • Revit Structure;
  • Revit MEP.

To facilitate team collaboration, you may want to use the Revit BIM 360 tool kit.

See the dedicated development software suite in BIM >>

CDE Platform

CDE is recommended at BIM 2 and 3 levels (for shared work of professionals from different industries). The platform will serve as a place for all digital content and project-related correspondence, as well as archiving these documents at all stages of the project.
For the platform to improve your projects, it should meet the minimum requirements:

  • Access content via the Internet only after you have logged in.
  • Password-protected login;
  • Access to content controlled by user-defined access groups;
  • Record and archive all content changes and information about the author of the change;
  • Content-related comments and correspondence (linked to the files on the platform);.
  • Review of minimum drawings in PDF and DWG formats;
  • View models in IFC 2×3 format, access to feature features;
  • Ability to add and archive comments in the context of model items containing information about the author and the time of entering the comment;
  •  automatic workflow of documents requiring approval, comment, or other action;
  • e-mail notifications of platform events.

Deploy and succeed with BIM technology

Why us?

We obtained the status of the BIM managers as one of the first in Poland. For many years, we have consequently participated in major projects in Poland and abroad. We can safely say that we know the BIM technology inside out. We are not theoretical, but practices that always take into account your business objectives when implementing the BIM.

As a Gold partner company from Autodesk and HP, we have access to state-of-the-art technology, software and hardware. This will help you to make the investment process work.

Our experience has benefited (or continues to benefit) i.a.:

  • Copernicus Science Centre
  • Małopolskie Centrum Nauki Cogiteon w Krakowie;
  • Tektonika Architekci;
  • Bipromet;
  • Heinle, Wischer und Partner.

We have participated in joint projects with:

  • Skanska;
  • Warbud.

How can we help you?

We offer you support at all stages of the implementation of the BIM technology in your business. Depending on your needs, this may include:

  •  Analysis of customer needs;
  • optimization of processes through the use of BIM technology;
  • analysis of possible software solutions;
  • consulting on software selection;
  • preparation of libraries and document models and procedures;
  • establishment of quality control procedures;
