Civil 3D has tools for the automated creation of:

Three-dimensional surfaces (e.g., existing terrain) from points and contour lines
Working with point clouds and creating surfaces from them

Designed components in AutoCAD Civil 3D are objects that can be freely displayed, described, or extracted for relevant data. This data can then be effectively utilized, for example:

Presenting graphically, such as in a cross-section created from a three-dimensional terrain model
Generating tabular reports, such as geodetic measurements based on a modeled three-dimensional road corridor

Interrelated design elements dynamically respond to changes; for instance, modifying the route of a road will automatically update the terrain elevation, cross-sections, and other related components.

Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D includes tools to streamline the transfer of survey data from survey equipment to the drawing.

Civil 3D provides both graphical design capabilities and tools for hydraulic and hydrological analysis of modeled structures or terrain. It also supports automatic earthworks calculation and cost estimation.

You can associate intelligent descriptions, called labels, with elements modeled in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Their size can be adjusted based on the print scale, and linking them to design objects ensures that any changes automatically update the labels. This method removes the need to update descriptions manually when revisions occur.
